What are shoes but the worst part of being human?
That box where everyone places their self so they don't have to show it to anyone. That box you lean on to make yourself look taller. You worry about how your shoes look because you expect the world to judge you by them and not by what's inside. Sometimes I wonder who chose yours for you. Your feet must be rotting. Let them out! You'll see, if you free them, you'll think better.

“Andar Descalzo” (Walking barefoot) is the first story I ever wrote in 2012, during a philosophy class. I had a dream te night before that I couldn't get out of my mind. It was about the only brave boy that dare to walk without shoes. So I started writing instad of paying attention to the teacher. Five years later, in 2017, while I was studying Arts in college, I started painting te illustrations but it had to wait five more years before I released this edition.

The process of this illustration is a particularly interesting one, since I first drew the city and then placed a tracing paper on top to locate the characters. These were designed through ink blots so I made sure that they were all very different from each other.

The book was presented in many public libraries in te city of Montevideo with a children's audience
